Founder & CEO, Holistic Sex, Individuals, Marriage and Couples Therapist
Dr. Kres Snyder serves a broad spectrum of clients with experience in diverse populations. She recognizes that all humans are social and relational beings, and always in pursuit of the best version of themselves. She specializes in individual and couples with a focus sex therapy, alternative lifestyle counseling, and creating healthy relationship patterns and behaviors.
She is the founder of Minds Empowered Counseling located in Chicago, IL, Tinley Park, IL and and Phoenix, AZ. She spearheads the practice with over 16 years of experience with LGBTQIA concerns, communication struggles, intimacy issues, betrayal and abandonment, and marital and couple issues. She oversees therapists from all walks of life and ensures that BIPOC have access to not just access to services but the best quality of services. She brings a warm, honest, and open approach to therapy while helping a client feel hope about their situation.
Kres believes mental health is directly tied to the quality of our relationships and sex life. Driven by her desire to smash stigmas about mental health and sexuality, Kres built a platform on social media and amongst peers that connects people seeking therapy for sexual issues, but also provides a safe, inclusive space for people to get access to education about sensitive topics that people live with every day. As an experienced kink-aware therapist, she works with an open mind on the issues you identify. She welcomes clients of all sexual and erotic preferences, practices, and identities. Her work in kink recognizes and respects the use of unconventional sexual practices, concepts, or fantasies and the interplay in peoples lives and thoughts. However, integrating the nuances of kink, fetishes, and power exchange into a loving, intimate relationship can be a challenge for some couples. The mixture of clinical training, Gottman principles, and personal experience allows Kres to fully support those with these issues and other sexual related issues.
Dr. Snyder completed her master's and doctoral work at Argosy University with a focus on clinical psychology. She has previous experience as a long time Clinical Director in a residential Group Home, Supervision in Foster Care, and multiple experiences in Correctional Populations.
Her dissertation looked at readiness to change in Police Officers who abused alcohol. She has spent the last 10 years in private practice cultivating a practice in sex therapy and kink awareness. In her spare time, she is an avid foodie, enjoys dancing, swimming, and spending time with family, including her two daughters and son.

Hello! My name is Crystal Hart. I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Aurora University. I continued my education and graduated with my Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology in May of 2022. I have a warm personality and have always enjoyed helping others. I have extensive experience working with individuals with substance use disorders, anxiety, depression, and bipolar disorder. I have worked with individuals from all cultures and backgrounds.
I believe that we as humans all go through periods when we need some help with our mental health. I enjoy creating a safe space for my clients to share the issues that they are facing in their lives. I am very much looking forward to creating that space with you.
My therapeutic approach stems from evidence-based treatment modalities. I tend to use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy along with Psychodynamic therapy. I like to explore the thoughts and feelings that are disrupting my client’s wellbeing. I also like to understand what experiences that they have gone through that has shaped those thoughts and feelings. I believe that both are important to explore in order to maintain positive change in our lives.
One of my main career goals is to make a positive impact on the world. I believe that I can do that by helping one person at a time. I want to help others live a happy, full, and authentic life. One of my favorite things about my career is that I get to witness positive transformations daily. It is an absolute honor to be a part of someone’s journey to self-discovery and happiness.

In the world of business, we have many opportunities to get it right, but we only have one opportunity to make an initial impression that has a lasting effect. My goal is to help make an impression that has a lasting effect on at least just one person. Human Resources is my passion because it allows me to be myself. I am able meet people where they are no matter where that is. I am able to coach people with a style that reflects who they are and those they service. My approach is solely based upon my upbringings on the South Side of Chicago. I have found that while my education and credentials are great, it is my personality and the way I move that allows me to be a fierce competitor and business woman.
I see life for what it is and I do my best to enjoy the smallest things. My pride and joy is my 2 year old daughter. My life’s work is being built to give her the influences she will need to be her most amazing self. I am a God fearing, powerful, capable, energetic and loyal African-American woman.
